Some pics of "Gardenia" & "Beary Patch", I'm pretty proud, used mostly tossed off bricks, rail road ties, the 2nd tie is layered with 2 bricks underneath because it slops and has a run off. Cucumber is amazing, I finally let her eat a cilantro that went to seed. I thought of giving her a sandwich! 2 Beary plants I put in a rough soil, very shaded area wanting to utilize it. They are growing. 2 plants I didn't check to see if they were heirloom, and they are struggling, curious! I put strawberries everywhere, lots of death... finally order bare root strawberries, looks like 6 will make it. Typically I keep the dirt covered with grass coffee grounds, eggshells, even cedar mulch or it bakes, cracks and I believe that saps the nutrients, I was extending a bit hoping the strawberries and cucumbers grow like people keep warning me, so needed more dirt, and brick. These are this year's lessons so far. Pretty flowers around the house, but I love the humble garden and little berry patch (I've been warned, they'll grow big, I certainly hope so!) I did transplant some beautiful cockscomb, another casualty, I couldn't dig far enough out and not injure surrounding plants, I must have damaged the roots. A few berries I just planted, it's not ideal planting (just sharing my novice lessons) but I expected them 2 months ago and they couldn't wait for fall, so lots of mulch, watering in the evening to prevent sunburn. Heck when I go by intuition (God-Stinct actually) I have the best luck. They like the tuning fork too!! I hasn't shared in a while... so I've got built up sharing! Beartaria!!!
