My new garden is finally ready to plant. I started last fall by digging it up with a fork. Winter did its thing and turned those giant chunks of clay into nice fluffy garden soil. There used to be trees here, and I mulched all the branches. There's a lot of organic material in the dirt thanks to that, but I also tilled in a couple inches of municipal compost. I laid out the beds with string and its finally ready to plant. It was a lot of effort, but it will pay off for years to come, hopefully.
